Practice Announcement: Welcoming Dr Chris Ashwin

We are pleased to inform our patients that Dr Chris Ashwin will be becoming a Partner at the practice. Many of you will already know Dr Ashwin, as he has been part of our team for some time. He joined us as a GP ST3 trainee and completed a year with the practice before returning once he had qualified last year as a salaried GP. During this time, Dr Ashwin has become a valued member of the practice team, providing high-quality care and building strong relationships with patients and colleagues alike. We are delighted that he will now be taking on this new role as Partner and helping to shape the future of the practice.

Please join us in congratulating Dr Ashwin on this well-deserved appointment.

Dr Ashwin has says:

“I grew up in Winchester but have moved gradually further west after initially studying for a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Bath University and then a Master’s in Bristol. Alongside these studies I spent a couple of years playing rugby professionally in Bristol. Whilst trying to delay getting a real job for as long as possible, I eventually got a place at Exeter Medical School and completed my training in Truro before working as a foundation doctor and GP trainee in RCHT.

I was hooked in by the delicacies of Nile’s and Malcolm Barnecutt’s (other pasties are available) and am now settled in Cornwall with my wife and two young children, who love growing up by the beach. I’m a keen sports fan and probably unwisely still try and play rugby for St Austell RFC, although more and more I am moving towards gardening as preferred hobby – any tips welcome.

I’m excited to be joining as a partner in the practice, continuing to work with great colleagues and hopefully contributing to providing an excellent service to our patients, who I look forward to getting to know better after my year as a GP registrar here last year.”
